Who we are

We Are Remote operates this website at www.weareremote.co.uk. For questions about this notice or your personal information, email david@weareremote.co.uk.

Information you give us

If you contact us by form or email, we receive the details you provide, such as your name, email address, subject, message and any website or project information you choose to share. We use this information to respond, assess your enquiry, discuss or provide services, and keep a record of the conversation. We do not need passwords in an initial enquiry. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before a contract, performing a contract where one exists, or our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries and managing our work, as appropriate.

Website operation and security

When you visit, our website and hosting services may process technical information such as your IP address, browser details, pages requested and access times. We use this to deliver the website, diagnose problems and protect it against misuse. Our lawful basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in keeping the website available and secure.

Google reCAPTCHA

We use Google reCAPTCHA v3 to help identify and prevent automated spam and abuse of our contact form. It works in the background and its script currently loads across the website, not only when you submit the form. Google may receive information about your device, browser, IP address and interactions with the site to assess whether activity is likely to be automated. Google says reCAPTCHA sets the _GRECAPTCHA cookie when it runs for risk analysis. We use the resulting assessment to protect our forms and website; our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in preventing spam and abuse. See Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Cookies and other third-party tools

The site also loads Google Analytics, which helps us understand website use, and OptinMonster, a tool for website campaigns and messages. These services may use cookies or similar technologies and receive information about visits and interactions. Our website may also use functional WordPress cookies, for example for administrators signing in and for visitors who choose to save their details when leaving a comment. You can manage cookies in your browser settings, although blocking some cookies may affect website features. Read Google’s Privacy Policy and OptinMonster’s Privacy Policy for information about those providers.

Comments and embedded content

If you leave a comment where comments are enabled, WordPress collects the information shown in the comment form, together with your IP address and browser user-agent information for spam detection. A hash of your email address may be sent to Gravatar to check whether you use that service; see Automattic’s Privacy Policy. Content embedded from another website may collect data about you and use its own cookies when you interact with it.

Who receives information

We may share information with the providers needed to host and operate the website, deliver email, analyse site use and prevent spam, including Google and OptinMonster as described above. Information handled by these providers may be processed outside the UK. Contact us if you would like details of a particular provider or the safeguards relevant to your information.

How long we keep information

We keep enquiries and project correspondence for as long as needed to respond, manage any resulting work, resolve issues and meet applicable legal or accounting requirements. The period depends on the nature of the enquiry and whether it leads to work. Comments and related metadata may remain on the site until removed. We review information when it is no longer needed.

Your rights and complaints

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or erase your personal information, restrict or object to its use, and request portability. Please email david@weareremote.co.uk to make a request or raise a concern. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

We may update this notice when our website or data practices change. The date at the top shows the latest update.
